The words hit me like a punch to the chest. Not because they hurt—but because they split something open.
Sunshine.
Gods, what kind of cheesy-ass, soul-stripping, heart-melting line was that?
And why the f**k did it work?
I blinked, slow and dumb, my brain skipping like a scratched record. One second I was wrapped in heat and skin and the soft hum of morning breath, and the next my mind was screaming in fourteen languages while my wolf howled behind my ribs.
Sunshine?
My first instinct—my default—was to scoff. Laugh. Maybe zap him just for being that soft in the morning. Goddess, the man used to terrify entire Alpha circles, and now he was purring under me and calling me sunshine like we lived in a f*****g fairy tale?
