DERRICK POV The first footsteps hit the metal floor like drums of war. It was a rhythm I knew in my bones — the sound that told you the moment for thought had passed. No more waiting. No more breathing. Time to kill. Finally. My pulse spiked. Claws itched under my skin. Fangs pressed against my gums like they couldn’t stand being caged for another second. My jaw flexed.
