I’ve been in my office most of the day, I’m waiting on the midwife at present. Her reason for leaving just wasn’t good enough so I did some digging. Turns out she’s from one of those families, the ones who think I shouldn’t be Alpha.
There’s a knock at the door “enter”
The midwife steps in and bows “Alpha”
“You know why you are here?” I stare at her but she doesn’t look up from the floor nor does she answer me.
“Have you lost your voice? Should that be the first thing I remove from you?” I threaten.

“Who else?” she looks up then making a vital mistake because now she is trapped in the beasts gaze and he wants answers. We cannot bring our mate here if there is no safe place for children. We must make it safe! I’ve long stopped
