Amani Spending time with Josiah and getting to know each other had been the best part of the last couple of weeks. I had come to the conclusion that snuggling on the sofa at the end of a long day with my mate was now my favorite part of the day. I pressed my face against Josiah’s chest as I breathed in his delicious and addicting scent. “Hmm,” Josiah hummed as his arm pulled me even closer. I turned my head slightly so that I could see the large TV screen. We sat in comfortable silence as we watched the action movie Josiah had picked out earlier. “What is it like being a hybrid?” I questioned curiously. The movie had now been forgotten as I leaned back so that I could see his face. “I don’t know, what is it like being a wolf?” his question made me giggle as he reached out for the remote so that he could pause the movie. “I mean, what is it like being more than just a wolf?” “Well, my wolf and I -whose name is Joe, by the way- aren’t always the best of friends,” he said, and I frowned. What did that mean? I was about to ask when Josiah continued. “The first time I shifted, it didn’t go well and Joe…well, he freaked out. So, we didn’t exactly have the best introduction. Needless to say, at that point I had already mastered my magical abilities,” “How did that make Joe feel?” I couldn’t help but ask as I watched Josiah closely. “He felt like he didn’t belong. We had a rough start and, while I say that we aren’t always the best of friends…I mean we don’t always agree on some things…we are as close as can be,” “Do you agree on me?” I questioned softly, nervously. “Oh, Amani,” he murmured as he pulled me in, and the embrace had me wanting so much more. “Joe and I most definitely agree on you,” for whatever reason, I breathed out a sigh of relief and relaxed completely in his arms. “We don’t agree on Grayson being our Alpha,” “Why?” I questioned curiously. “Well, we have Alpha blood running through our veins,” that small confession made me pull back in surprise. If Joe and Josiah were meant to be an Alpha, how did they truly feel about me? “Joe wants to be an Alpha, but I am more than happy to be led by Grayson,” “And how do you feel about the fact that your mate is an omega?” I questioned softly as I looked down at my hands. Josiah used his index finger to slowly lift my chin so that I was looking at him. “We adore you, Amani,” his whispered declaration had me surging forward as I greedily pressed my lips against his. The kiss was hard at first, but Josiah quickly took control. His tongue darted out and he licked at the seam of my lips until I finally opened for him. Josiah took his time as he explored my mouth. Our breathing was heavy as I panted with desire. This was new for me, and I wanted more. So much more. “Josiah…” I moaned when we finally parted. “You are very tempting Amani,” he informed me as he casually palmed the bulge that had formed in the front of his pants. I smirked happily as I realized I was the reason behind his arousal. I had done that. Of course, I ignored my own heat of arousal. “So…warlock?” “Hmm?” “What is it like being a powerful wizard?” I teased. Josiah smiled even though he shook his head. When he suddenly snapped his fingers, I gasped in surprise. The black pants he had been wearing had been replaced by light grey sweatpants and while they were looser than the pants, I could still see the bulge in front. I smirked as I leaned back. “Well, that’s not very fair, is it?” I questioned. “Hmm,” he hummed before he snapped his fingers once again. This time it was me whose clothing had been magically changed. Instead of the pair of jeans, I now had on a similar shade of grey sweatpants. I noted that I wasn’t wearing any panties. Not only that, but the crop top I had been wearing had also been replaced by a large white T-shirt. My bra had also disappeared. “Um…” I glanced around the living area and frowned. “You’ll find them at home in your laundry basket,” he announced proudly, but I frowned. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. Josiah didn’t seem to notice or if he had, he chose to ignore it as he snapped his fingers once again. This time, a large pizza appeared on the coffee table. Josiah picked up the remote and unpaused the movie before grabbing a slice from the plate. I continued to frown, and he enjoyed the movie while munching on pizza. I had no idea how I felt about any of it, but clearly, it didn’t matter. “Relax Amani,” he then whispered as he pulled me up against him. His eyes never left the screen, and I was simply shocked. Was this how things would be? “I should get home,” I suddenly declared as I untangled myself from his loose embrace. Josiah frowned as he finally pulled his attention away from the movie. “Really?” he asked, and I could tell that he was extremely disappointed and that made me feel guilty. “Was it too much?” he then questioned softly, and I wasn’t sure how to respond. It was too much, but was it really? Or was it simply something new?
