“I want to take Aurora out for ice cream,” Leonardo said, his voice calm and measured as he faced Isabella in her room.
Isabella blinked, shocked by Leonardo's request. She had woken up this morning to the sound of knocking on the door.
“Ice cream?” she asked, trying to hide her shocked expression , though her eyes were filled with suspicion. “That’s… sudden.”
“I know. I just want to get to know Aurora more,"he added.
Before she could create a proper excuse, Aurora ran into the room, her eyes wide with delight. “Did someone say ice cream?!”
Leonardo knelt, brushing back a curl from her forehead. “Yes, piccolina. You, me... and someone special.”
Aurora clapped her hands. “Yes! Please, Mommy, please! Can we go?”
