Sofia returned late in the evening, dust from the road clinging to her boots as she stepped into the Gold estate.
Marco had called her the day before saying Leonardo had asked for her return. The guards at the entrance gave her respectful nods, which she returned with a subtle wave before walking in.
Her hair swung behind her as she walked to the main living room, dropping her bag near the door.
