I was still running hot from the conversation with Bella when I found myself standing outside Irene’s door.
My first instinct after leaving the dining room had been to head to my office, shut the door, and let the rest of the night rot without me. But instead, my feet carried me down the opposite hallway toward my sister’s room.
It wasn’t somewhere I went often. In fact, I could count on one hand the number of times I’d stood here since we were kids.
