I can't breathe, my chest feels too tight and my vision has doubled over. Jaxon's still holding me tight in his arms, I hear him calling my name over and over again but I can't respond… not until many seconds after. “I need some air.” That's the first thing I say—to no one in particular. Jaxon stiffens behind me, and I think I heard Cassie snort. “Are you sure? It's cold—” “I have a blanket,” I say abruptly and hurry out of the cabin. Jaxon rushes after me and just as I'm outside the door, he hugs me from behind. I try to move away from his hold but he's much stronger—or I don't really want to move away. “I wanted to tell you… but I wasn't—” “You didn't trust me enough.” I finish his sentence for him, sniffling back tears.
