Chapter 22: Spacing out

Dude! I know that this movie is lit but I didn’t know that this is actually my taste. I didn’t even notice that I wasn’t eating and was just focusing on watching. Luckily, Nick noticed that I wasn’t eating anything when the movie was already in the middle. 

Nick gave me a plate with pizzas and an organic juice to drink. I even asked what he gave me and of course, knowing Nick’s attitude he sarcastically answered me. The thing is, the meaning of what I said was not what's on the plate. Instead, the meaning of what I said was actually thank you for noticing. Nick just doesn't know my language yet but I think that if we continue to live together and be like this around him, he will get my thoughts. 

The movie is nearly finished and now I am also still eating. I didn’t know that I was really hungry and just kept on eating. I was going to continue eating but when I touched my plate there wasn’t food on it. So I turned to look at Nick to ask him to get me another plate of food. “Nick.” I said while pouting and using my lips to point for the food. “What?” Nick asked. Ugh! Nick is just so shallow, he can’t get body language too. “Food… get me some food please.” I asked Nick. 

Nick first looked at the plate and back to my eyes. “Can’t you get for yourself?” Nick said and then turned his attention back to the movie. “Ugh! You just got me a while ago. Why can’t you do it again?” I said to Nick in frustration. “It’s different now.” Nick replied without looking at me. “Ugh!” I exclaimed and extended my hand to get some food. “Hey!” I said as soon as Nick got the plate off my hand and got some food on the plate by himself.

“Honestly tell me, what is the problem with you?” I asked Nick. He did not reply yet. Instead, he gave me the plate first. “You told me to get food for you. I am actually expecting to get a thank you from you, not like this.” Nick said in a sarcastic voice. “Well, then thank you.” I replied to Nick in an annoyed voice. I really think that Nick is getting better nowadays in making me annoyed. Hmm.. I need to find more things to do to annoy him next time. Wait for your time because I will still have the last laugh.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Nick said in front of me. The center light in the living room is now on and Nick is standing in front of me while looking down to me. “What?!” I replied to Michael while still looking around the house. I saw Mari, Leonora, Theresa, and Janice turning on the lights on the ground floor. While mom and dad are cleaning the table. “Michael, you were smiling like a psycho while still watching on the TV screen when in fact that the movie that we were watching finished about 3 minutes ago.” Nick explained to me. 

“What?” I exclaimed after hearing what Nick just said to me. So I was here imagining things for a couple of minutes already? Dude… I am so into how to annoy Nick. “Yeah. Look around to see what the people are doing here. We are cleaning already so if you may… Could you give us some help?” Nick said in a sarcastic tone. Nick is getting on my nerves, I will just patiently wait and plan everything out so that when the time comes, Nick will really regret all that he did to me today. 

I stood up and started to help everybody, especially mom and dad because there are a lot of things to sort out on the table. I just realized that I am still holding the plate that I used to put my food on a while ago. “What do you think about the movies, son?” Mom asked with a calm voice. “It was great. I would love to watch it again… but maybe next time.” I replied to Mom. Honestly, when mom asked me the question. I was only thinking of the scene that I remembered before I lost track of the movie. 

I didn’t realize that I already lost track of the movie because I was busy planning out revenge on Nick. I was so into the movie that I almost forgot to eat and just because Nick started to play some games with me I lost what happened to the last part of the movie. The final scene that I can remember was that the boy’s mom was on her way to go back to their house to meet her son that was left out. Her mom was only thinking about him at that moment. Her mom even tried to buy a ticket for the soonest plane to travel back but she failed because it was all full. Her mom found an old lady that had a ticket and she tried to sell her belongings to the old lady just for a ticket but the old lady’s husband came and told her not to give the ticket to the boy’s mom. She was so devastated because she kept on thinking about her son that was left out. I mean, who would have not? Every good mom would think that way. If it was my mom, I just don’t know she might even have a heart attack if she realized that she left me in the house alone by myself on a holiday. 

Unfortunately that was the last scene that I was able to watch because again, I lost track. Now, I am really curious about the ending. Also on the boy’s side, the thieves already got into his house so now I am agitated to know the ending. 

“Michael, are you okay?” I heard dad ask. “Yeah I am.” I replied. Was I spacing out again? Oh This is not healthy. “Michael, are you okay?” I heard dad ask. “Yeah I am.” I replied. Was I spacing out again? Oh no! This is not healthy. “Hey, of course you can watch it again and again if you want.” Mom said and gave me a soft pat on my head. “I surely will.” I said to mom. Mom didn’t know that the reason that I want to watch it again is because I was not able to finish it. Besides, I will only watch the last part though. 

I just realized that Nick is no longer by my side so I looked for his presence. I saw him together with Janice. I finished cleaning my area and went to where Michael and Janice are to talk to Nick about something. I am actually really curious also to what topic they are talking about so that’s also one of the reasons.

I was a little embarrassed because maybe they think I cut their talk because I was jealous and also wanted to talk. But actually that is not the reason. The reason is...
