Alec sits on the steps of the staircase as he stares at the front door , waiting for the sound of a car pulling up and he lifts his head from resting in his palms as the window next to the door lights up , the soft sound of a car pulling into the driveway and the lights go off as the car shuts down .
Alec hurriedly gets to his feet , striding over to the door , opening it and he strides out , staring at Mark and John climbing out of the car , two duffel bags in their hands .
