I was let out of the cold and dark room in the basement, but Nadine made it clear that I was still a prisoner.
"Why does she get to leave the hell-hole early? She is new," one of the girls in the house asked.
"Because she is a special bird, very valuable to Xavier's very own pet," Nadine replied.
"Thank you for acknowledging that I am a queen," I said smugly. I wasn't gonna get out of here anytime soon but I refuse to let that bring me down.
"I hate her already," the girl said. She had fiery red hair and a nice round face.
"I am hurt," I said sarcastically.
"You think he will come back for you?" Nadine raised her eyebrows. "You know how many guys tried to "rescue" one of these girls? They magically disappeared after making those promises."
