chapter 2

Willow:

After blowing off some steam, I went into the cabin to make something to eat. I am singing and making a sandwich when I smell another wolf. It is not my mom. I started to panic. The Alpha has found me. He is going to kill me or a rogue. I drop what I am doing and bolt it to the door to run, but a big tall guy blocks me.

I backed up scared and ducked behind the chair.

"Hey, now it is OK. I will not hurt you; it is OK," said the man.

I sat there shaking. I have not seen another person in 8 years. Is he going to kill me? Mom always said if they came, they would kill me.

"Hey, now." he bends down in front of the chair,

"It is OK, you can come out. I am not going to hurt you, I promise." He reached his hand towards me. I scurried back. He is going to kill me; he is going to kill me is all that kept running through my head. I remember my mom said if anyone finds me, they will kill me. Now, there is a guy here.

"Ok, ok," said the guy, raising his hands.

"Come down, I did not mean to scare you. Can you tell me your name?" he asked.

I am too scared to talk; I am shaking like a leaf.

"I heard Tammy call you, Willow," he said.

"Are you really, Willow?"

He knows my mother?, but I am still too scared to talk, so I just nodded my head yes at him.

"Willow Mason," he asked.

Again, I nod.

"Oh god, Willow, we thought you were dead. Your mother said a Rogue killed you. Have you been here this whole time?"

"You do not remember me, do you?" he asks.

I shake my head no.

"Hey, Willow, honey, it is me, Kyle, Kyle Prax. We were friends as kids. We were playing the day you died," he said.

I looked at him but still did not move. I was so scared. My mother always said everyone wanted to kill me. I am a bad girl. My wolf is evil, so Kyle must want to kill me, too.

"Willow, it is OK. I will not hurt you. Let me take you home, Willow," he held out his hand again.

I held my legs tighter, rocking back and forth, shaking.

" OK, I see you are scared. I get it; it is ok," said Kyle,

"I will leave, OK?". He slowly backs up to the door.

"I promise Willow I will never hurt you. You do not have to be afraid of me," he says.

" I have really missed you all these years; we all have. But I am going to go, OK? You can trust me, Willow, OK?" And with that, he left.

It took me 20 minutes to calm down. I was so scared

What is my mother going to do when I tell her Kyle has found me?

Kyle

I can not believe how scared she was. I do not believe I have ever seen anyone shake that badly before. Why has she been hiding out here all these years? Why is she so afraid of people? I have to go tell Lucas, we have to figure out why her mother has hidden her away all this time.

My God, Willow is alive. It is a miracle.

I made it back to the packhouse, changed, and ran to Lucas's office. I did not even knock this time; I just ran in.

"Alpha," I said out of breath.

"Oh, come on, not again, Kyle, get out dog. I am trying to be with my man here." Kristen spat at me.

"Kristen, get out now," I told her.

"YOU DO NOT ORDER ME AROUND DOG. I AM YOUR LUNA," she screamed at me.

"You are not my Luna yet, Kristen. You are still just a low-rank wolf, and I am your beta, and I SAID GET OUT."

" Baby, are you really going to let him talk to me that way?" she whined to Lucas.

I could see Lucas look at me ticked off as well, but when he saw my face, his mood changed.

"Leave now, Kristen," he told her.

"WHAT? AGAIN YOU CAN NOT BE SERIOUS LUCAS, I AM THE LUNA," she yelled.

"YOU ARE NOT THE LUNA," Lucas yelled at her.

" AND I WOULD WATCH HOW YOU SPEAK TO YOUR ALPHA AND BETA."

"Fine," Kristin said, throwing the papers off the desk,

"But you will be sorry; this is not over," she stormed out.

"This had better be good, Kyle. You cost me sex twice today, and now I am going to have to listen to her bitch at me later."

"Lucas, when I tell you what I have found, you are not going to give two fucks about Kristin," I told him.

"So this must be something big then," Lucas asked.

"So today, I followed Tammy Mason when she took bags into the forest again. " I said

" Just over 2 hours, at the very back of our territory on the Southside, it has no entry, so we never bother going there; there is this old cabin."

"Yes, right," said Lucas.

"It belonged to my grandparents. They built it when my father took over as Alpha. When they died 2 years later in that big rogue attack, no one had ever gone back out there. I think we even forgot about it. "

"Well, what if I tell you someone has been living there?". I said.

"What? But it has to be so run down by now. Who could possibly be living there?". Lucas asks

"That is where Tammy has been going. She has been dropping off bags of food and supplies for a month at a time."

" So she has a secret lover hiding out there then?" Lucas laughed.

"No, man," I said.

" Lucan, it is Willow. She has been hiding Willow out there all these years. "

Lucas froze.

"Did you say, Willow?"

"Willow?" he said again.

"That can not be Willow. Willow is dead."

I explained everything I had seen, heard, and witnessed while out there.

"She is so terrified, Lucas. I am telling you I have never seen anyone who was that scared or shaking that badly in my life before."

"She was so scared she could not even speak to me. When I told her my name, she nodded her head yes to remembering who I was."Get Tammy in here now," said Lucas.

Lucas:

Willow is alive? How?. I was so heartbroken when I was told she was dead. I swore we were going to be mates. I was 12 years old, in love with a 10-year-old willow. I still mourn for her every now and then. I visit her gravestone every week.

Why is she hiding? Why is she faking her death? I need to see her.

Just then, there was a knock on my office door. Kyle opens the door and Tammy and Brad Mason walk in.

"Alpha, you asked to see us?" Brad asked.

"Yes, please sit; it seems you both have a lot of explaining to do," I said.

I could see Tammy shift a little in her seat.

" I do not understand what you mean, Alpha. Explain what?" said Brad Mason

"Have we done something wrong?"

"You were the beta and best friends with my father, Brad," I said.

"Betas are to be trusted; they are the right-hand man to their Alpha and replace him in times of need. You lied and betrayed your Alpha, your best friend, along with your entire pack."

"I resent that Lucas," Brad said

" I have never lied or betrayed your father, my best friend, EVER. You may be the Alpha now, Lucas, but I will not sit here and take that from you."

I was about to lose my cool on him when Kyle's mind linked me

"Lucas, perhaps he might be telling you the truth; it did sound like only Tammy was hiding her. He may not know himself. "

Kyle may be right; I need to find out.

"Sit down, Brad, please," I said,

"I am not finished yet."

I turned to face a nervous Tammy.

"Tammy, would you mind telling us what you are hiding?" I asked her.

"I am sure I have not the slightest idea what you mean, Alpha," she answered.

" I am not hiding anything."

"May I remind you what the punishment is for lying to your Alpha?". Her head lowered.

"Kyle," I said

"I have witnessed you for months now. Tammy, sneaking off into the woods for hours with bags of food and other items, then returned hours later empty-handed, " said Kyle.

"I told you this morning, Beta, I like to run on my own at least once a month when no one else runs, the bags are just some clothes to hide if needed and my lunch for the day," she says.

"I saw you leave again today. After our talk this morning, Tammy, "Kyle said,

I saw her face go white.

"What if I tell you I followed you, and I found your secret" Kyle told her.

"I know what you are hiding."

Tammy shot out of her chair.

"NO,"

"What are they talking about, Tammy? Brad asked his mate.

"Nothing, Brad, just go home,"

"No," I spoke,

"So I would take it, then Brad, you are not part of her little secret then?"

"No, I have no idea what you are talking about. What secret?" he asked.

"Tell him now, Tammy," I said,

"I just went and visited an old cabin out south at the far end of the territory. That is all, " she said to him.

"That is not all, is it?" I snapped.

"Please," she said.

"It would seem, Brad, your wife has been keeping a secret from you for 8 years." I told him,

"Kyle followed her today. he watched and listened to her talk to the person she had been hiding in that cabin," I went on.

"After you left today, Tammy, Kyle confronted the person living in the cabin."

"Oh God, no, please, you can not have her. Where is she?" she said.

"Where is who? Who can he not have?"Brad asked.

"Willow," said Kyle.

"WHAT?" yelled a shocked Brad,

" No, you are mistaken. My willow is dead. She died 8 years ago from a rogue attack"

" It seems your wife has had everyone believing she was dead, but I assure you, Brad, she is alive."

"Tell us why you lied to us about Willow? Why did you fake her death and hide her in that run-down rotten old cabin for 8 years?" I asked her.

Tammy did not answer me.

Kyle filled Brad in on what he saw and heard and how terrified Willow was.

"Brad grabbed his mate.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME? WHY HAVE YOU MADE ME BELIEVE MY OWN DAUGHTER WAS DEAD?".

"SHE IS MINE YOU HEAR ME?" she yelled at us all

"I WILL KILL HER MYSELF BEFORE ANYONE OF YOU GETS TO HER. SHE NEEDS TO BE HIDDEN AWAY FOREVER, FORGET YOU EVER SAW HER. SO HELP ME GOD" Tammy went on.

"TRY TO TAKE HER FROM ME. I DARE YOU. YOU CAN NOT BRING HER INTO THIS WORLD. YOU WILL ALL BE SORRY. SHE IS MINE. I WILL KILL HER MYSELF. "

She ran out the door.

"Kyle, make sure you have her followed," I ordered.

" She can not hurt Willow."

Brad was still sitting there with a shocked look on his face and tears streaming down his face.

"Brad, I am sorry I said those harsh words to you. I never should have said those things. I know now you were not involved."

"Where is my daughter?" he asked me.

"I have not seen her. Brad said she was too scared and did not trust Kyle, so he had to leave her in the cabin. "

"We must get to her before my wife does," he said, getting to his feet.

" I agree; let's go, "I said.

Brad Kyle and I took off towards the cabin as fast as we could,

I mind-linked Brad and Kyle,

" I was just informed that no one could find Tammy. We have to run faster. She might hurt Willow."

Tammy

That stupid beta, how dare he follow me out here, then tell the Alpha about Willow. She is mine. I did not hide her away for anything. Her power will be mine. I will kill the brat myself before they figure out she is the descendant of the moon goddesses and has all the powers in the world. If I can not have them, no one can. Mommy is coming for you, Willow, and it will not be pretty.
