When I finally awoke, it was already late in the evening. I obviously had already slept for a while, but I still felt utterly exhausted. As I tried to stretch, I groaned in pain. Every muscle in my body ached from the movement.
I slowly rolled from my side to my back, with my eyes still closed, as the events from previous night replayed in my head. Suddenly the pain in my chest returned from the memory. I could feel the devastation and heartbreak consuming me in an instant.
I heard footsteps getting closer as I started loudly sobbing again. A second later, I felt arms embrace me, as my aunt's voice soothingly said, "Let it all out, sweetness." I buried my face into her chest, as she continued to hold me while a cried.
