Andrea
It had been a few days since Jada and I decided we wanted to leave in search of our mates. The problem was that I still hadn't found the right time to break the news to Anton. I knew he wouldn't take the news well, and I didn't want to cause a scene in front of the other pack members.
While waiting for the right time. Jada and I both went through our clothes packing up only the most important items. We didn't want to be traveling with too much stuff.
Luckily, I didn't have to worry too much about money since my parents had left a generous amount in their will for both me and Anton. I hadn't touched any of mine yet, knowing that one day I would need it. Anton started a savings account for me right away, and it had been increasing a little each year.
Yesterday, Jada made a trip to the supermarket claiming she needed more make-up, but what she really went for was a map and snacks for our upcoming road trip. We decided to only take my car, despite us both having our own cars. Jada had a Toyota Camry, but I had a Nissan Murano, which gave us a lot more space to load our belongings.
Unfortunately before I got a good chance to tell Anton, he just so happened to walk past my room when I was packing up some of my more personal items. When he walked further into my room and realized I had two suitcases and a box filled, taped and ready to go, a loud growl erupted from him.
I spun around to face him, but when I saw the hurt and betrayal evident in his eyes, I was completely speechless. "What the hell is going on here?" Anton roared.
I jumped back in shock, and Anton immediately got control of himself before he asked in a softer voice, "Seriously Andrea, why are you packing up your things like you are leaving for a long time?"
"Um...um...well...you see..." I stuttered, but I stopped when he started to glare at me again.
"Just spit it out Andrea," he angrily snapped.
"Anton, I am sorry but I need to search for my mate. I will never feel complete until I find him and neither will Rea. You know how important this is to me, please understand," I begged.
"It is too dangerous for any wolf to travel alone," Anton adamantly insisted.
"Brother, I will not be traveling alone. Jada will be accompanying me. She also wants to search for her mate," I nervously informed him.
"Hum... so if you have this so well planned... tell me little sis, where do you plan to go first?" he inquired.
We have a couple of ideas, but we haven't finalized that part yet. I wanted to discuss it with you first," I warily answered.
It was then that I realized Jada had joined us in my room. She was quietly standing to the side waiting to see what Anton was going to say next. I could tell that she was expecting him to fight us more about it like I was, but what he said next shocked us both. "Why don't you go visit Aunt Kay at the Twisted Moon Pack?"
I let the idea float around in my head for a minute before eagerly responding, "That is an excellent idea, Anton. Do you have a way to get into contact with her to get permission for us to visit?"
"Actually, I do," he stated proudly before adding. "I will give her a call for you ." As soon as the last word left his mouth, Anton hastily exited the room.
This is perfect I thought to myself. As if reading my mind, Jada suddenly exclaimed, "Oh my Goddess, I can't believe we are gonna do this. Your brother is so awesome, coming up with the perfect idea."
I couldn't stop the giggle that left my mouth before I agreed with her. After that, I sat on my bed while chatting with Jada about what music to play on the ride and how often we should stop. We took the time to look at the map and determined it would take about eight hours to drive to the Twisted Moon Pack, if we stopped every two hours for a fifteen-minute break.
Right before we were about to split for the night, Anton came rushing into my room. This time his eyes were filled with excitement. I knew it was going to be great news right away.
Jada instantly asked, "Did you get hold of her?"
"Yes, she is still with the Twisted Moon Pack, and she has gotten permission from the Alpha for both of you to spend some time with her at their pack. Since you are already packed up, I assumed you wanted to leave right away, so I told her to expect you tomorrow evening. I expect you both to get a good night's sleep, and you need eat a healthy breakfast in the morning," he explained.
As he was leaving the room, Anton turned and said, "Oh and don't even think about leaving without telling me goodbye."
Jada and I hugged each other while we squealed in delight. This is going to be epic, I thought to myself.
Eventually, we calmed down, then Jada headed back to her own bedroom. This would be the last night we spent in these rooms that have been our safe havens for eighteen years. I decided to take a quick shower before I went to bed.
The next morning, I woke up earlier than usual. I had packed up my make-up, seeing no point in getting dolled up for a long drive.
Without hesitation, I eagerly changed into the comfy outfit I had set aside. Once dressed, I went down to the kitchen, where Alpha Damien and Anton were both up and drinking coffee.
"Speak of the werewolf," Alpha Damien cheekily remarked while winking at me. He had always been nice to me, so I decided to give him a hug. I could tell it caught him off guard, but he made sure to return the hug before asking, "What was that for?"
"I am going to miss you, Alpha Damien. Please make sure to look out for my brother, and call me if there is ever a problem," I requested.
"I am going to miss you too, Andrea, and no worries about your brother," he responded.
Anton scoffed beside us before mumbling, "Like I can't take care of myself."
"Oh, big brother, don't be like that. I love you so much. I had to make sure somebody would be here for you after I'm gone," I as I hugged Anton.
He returned the loving embrace and whispered, "Thank you, little sis, I am going to miss you more than you could ever possibly imagine."
"I am going to miss you too, brother. Promise me, that you will stay safe and keep in touch," I replied, as I flicked a lone tear that had fallen from Anton's eye. He sheepishly chuckled and hugged me again, but tighter this time.
A few minutes later, Jada joined us in the kitchen. We ate our breakfast while we talked to Anton about our travel plans. When we were finished eating, we packed the last few things in the car, then we said our emotional goodbyes to everybody. At last, we both climbed into my Murano and started the long drive toward the Twisted Moon Pack.
