Hillary The cold morning air prickles against my skin as I run down the street. I’d ditched my early morning runs for a while, but now I’m going back to them because that’s clearly the only way to deal with Ben. He’s made a full 360 turn back to where we started—a mean, condescending boss who lives to get on my nerves, picking on and insulting me whenever he can. “Hi, Adam,” I wave. I don’t stop to make small talk. I don’t have the time—or the strength—for Ben’s trouble this morning. I have to be in his room in ten minutes. “Good morning, Hillary,” Adam calls back just before the elevator doors slide shut. Jake left this morning, and we ended things in such a sore place.
