Nikolai looked towards Roxanne the moment Roland delivered the news. Her face turned completely white and she wobbled a bit, looking to be about to pass out. Nikolai quickly reached for her, picking her straight up into his arms and walking in brisk strides towards the castle. Roland and Bridget followed, Roland coming to stand beside him.
“I already asked for the men to gather in the dining hall,” Roland informed him just as a large horn sounded.
It was an emergency signal for all the men to stop what they were doing and come to the castle. There was already a crowd gathering in the courtyard as Nikolai walked through the entrance.
