Nicole and Marko broke apart when Xavier came in. Xavier moved his gaze between the two of them, waiting for an answer.
“You are-” Marko started but stopped when Nicole’s voice sounded a bit louder than his.
“It was nothing, just a stomach bug that I had been incubating for a week or so. It’s gotten bad that’s why I fainted.” Nicole interrupted Marko quickly. She took hold of Marko’s hand and gave it a small squeeze. She turned up to him and noticed the frown on his face.
Xavier rolled his eyes, “that’s your problem, Zuri! You always wait until you get worse to get medical assistance. What if you were all alone?”
Nicole bit her lip, “I will start taking better care of myself.” When she saw the look of disbelief on Xavier’s face, she rolled her eyes. “I promise!”
