The Doctor continued. “But you need to be careful. There might be some placenta issues as the twins grow but the anesthesia won’t affect them anymore.”
Jace and I exchanged glances. “Placenta issues?”
She nodded. “Yes. The tissues there were weakened by the drug. I’ll give you some medication to help but you have to take things slow. Your placenta is fragile and we need to protect it as the babies grow.”
I swallowed hard. “How fragile?”
“Weak enough that any sudden spike in blood pressure, any fall, or any shock could trigger premature labor or placental abruption later on. But not weak enough to threaten them right now. With the right care, we can keep everything stable.”
