Immediately I got the confirmation that Jace would be attending the event, I didn’t bother going home.
He’d be there waiting for me and he might do something that would make us stay at home. It was embarrassing to admit he had that effect over me, but I’d rather be embarrassed than dead.
I needed him at the event tonight.
