"Do we have anyone in the palace cells?" Marriette asked Marshal.
He looked at her and shook his head.
"Your sources are improving," he said. "Do you wish to see her?"
"Of course." Marriette bit her cheek to keep from asking Who?
"Where is your apprentice today?" she asked as they walked down the hall past the room where she still escaped to even if she didn't beat at Marshal with a wooden sword any more.
"Family issues," Marshal said. "He may as well deal with them now. Once he's Marshal there is no time to worry about that."
