As soon as Saige saw me, she jumped right into my arms like I was the best thing she had ever seen in her life. I didn’t mind that one bit. I wanted to inspect her to see if Marco had left any marks behind, but the longer I waited for that, the better. Right now, I just needed to enjoy having her arms wrapped around me again.
A strange woman was staring at me as I entered inside what I presumed to be her home. She didn’t say anything other than giving me a death glare as if we had had some sort of past or something. However, she didn’t look familiar to me at all.
“Oh, sorry!” Saige said as she jumped down and cleared her throat before turning back around to whoever this woman was. “Val, this is my mate, Hunter Wade. Hunter, this is Val. She saved me out there.”
