When I opened my eyes, a sharp pain shot through my head, making me wince. A flickering, dim light swayed above me, casting eerie shadows against the cracked walls. The room smelled damp, and the cold seeped into my bones. I tried to move but couldn’t. My hands and feet were tied to a metal chair, the ropes cutting into my skin. Every part of my body ached. My legs were covered in cuts and bruises, some fresh and bleeding.
I clenched my teeth, fighting the pain. Where was I? The last thing I remembered was the car spinning out of control, the sound of glass shattering, and my mother’s scream. My stomach twisted at the thought.
Mom. Dad.
They were with me. Where were they now? Were they okay? Panic set in, making it hard to breathe. I tugged at the ropes, but they wouldn’t
