_Mira's POV_ The next morning, I woke up with a shiver still clinging to me from the nightmare. The memory of the man and woman’s faces stayed sharp in my mind, and the blood—so much blood. I couldn’t forget it. It was as if the blood had stained my own skin, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t shake the feeling of it. I stepped into the shower and let the water pour over me, hoping that it would wash away the lingering sense of dread. I scrubbed my arms, my shoulders, my neck—over and over—as if somehow, I could get rid of the memory that haunted me. But even as I stepped out of the shower, the woman’s voice still whispered in my mind. “Run…hide yourself.” Who was she? And why did it feel like her words were meant just for me? After I dressed, I went downstairs, feeling drained
