The moment I saw Hayden’s message, my heart skipped a beat. My hands trembled as I read his words: “One of my friends spotted Mira at the Blue Moon pack. She was with the Alpha at a restaurant. They seemed close.”
Mira. She was alive. I felt relieved but my mind spun with questions. What was she doing with the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack? That pack was far from us, and its Alpha was a mystery—someone I had never met, known for being reserved and, some said, ruthless. How had Mira even ended up there?
But this wasn’t the time for doubts. I needed to see her, to tell her the truth and apologize. I had to bring her home. Without wasting a second, I messaged Hayden: “Come to my place. Bring Pete too.”
Soon, Hayden and Pete arrived. They looked at me with confusion, sensing
