Eden's POV
SEVENTY YEARS AGO
A slow, satisfied smile touches my lips as he brings his hand to my face, gliding his soft fingertips down my cheek.
“You’ve no idea how much I will miss this face.”
“Then don’t go,” I plead, already knowing full well that it isn’t an option.
He lifts my hand to kiss my palm gently. “I wish I didn’t have to. You know that,” he whispers before giving me a sympathetic look.
I pout a little, and he leans forward to land a kiss on my lips. I laugh softly against his mouth and throw my arms around his neck, holding him close to my naked chest. His lips break away from mine as he raises his hand to tug me off playfully. I reluctantly let him go, watching him pull his naked body upright to stand beside the bed.
