Mia

A low growl can be heard in the hallways as I stiffened at the sound.

“ What was that?” I asked and when I didn't get any response I looked up to see whom I bumped into.

I felt my breath was caught in my throat as my gaze fell on the most handsome man I have ever seen. He is clearly 6 feet tall or slightly more than that because he was towering over me easily. His face was chiseled with sharp jaws and, His brown hair complimented his dusky skin well. The black shirt he was wearing looked like it would r*****f at any moment with his slight movement.

“ I am sorry, mayor,” I heard Emma from behind as she tried to pull me away from him. But I remained unfazed as I looked into his eyes. His eyes were mesmerizing. I have never seen anyone with amber eyes.

I moved away when he narrowed his eyes on me.

“ I am sorry, sir,” I said, clearing my throat. He didn't say anything.

“ At least watch where you are going,” a lady said from my left side whom I didn't see until now.

“ I am sorry I didn't mean to,” I said, apologizing to him again.

“ Enjoy the rest of the evening,” he said in his deep voice. I found myself weak hearing his deep velvety voice.

“ Thank you,” I said with a small smile. I looked up at him only to find him smirking down at me.

“ Come, the guests are coming,” the lady said, urging him to go with her. I smirked inwardly neva if I were her i would do the same thing if my man stared at another woman.

I gave them both a genuine smile before walking past them.

“ He is handsome,” I said when I made sure I was out of his hearing range.

“ That he is,” Emma agreed.

We stopped in front of a big wooden door. I let Emma open the door. She pushed the door open and stood aside for me to enter. As I stepped in I was awestruck. The room is massive. The room was painted in light cream color with golden detailing with matching furniture.

“ Wow,” I said, taking in my surroundings.

“ you have a beautiful room,” I said, turning to face her as I sat in the edge of her massive bed.

“ Thanks,” she replied.

We chatted about random things and she told me how the city works. I was amazed as I listened to her. She told the servants to bring us some snacks which I really didn't know when she did that but after a few minutes they brought some fruits, berries, cheese, crackers and wine. And we devoured everything.

My thoughts wandered to the man called Mayor and I instantly blushed. But soon enough I was slapped back to reality when I thought about Max. How could he even say that? I thought.

“ What are you thinking about?” Emma asked.

“ Umm, nothing,” I replied clearing my throat as I looked at my hand on my lap.

“ Stop thinking about him,” she said sipping her wine. I lifted my head to look at her. I always thought justin and Emma knows something which I didn't.

“ Emma?”

“ Do you know something which I don't about Max?” I asked, gauging her expression.

“ Yes,” she replied without hesitation.

“ But I can't tell you now. I promise I will buy not now,’ she added quickly before I could ask her anything.

“ Ok,” saying that I nodded my head.

“ It's time,” she said, placing the wine glass on the tray before she stood up from the bed. I wonder if dad has finished his work?

“ It's going to be so fun,” she said, grabbing my wrist and pulling me gently off of the bed. I giggled at her enthusiasm. She sure is excited.

We made out way out of the room and to the hallway and stood at the top of the stairs. I gasped when my gaze fell on the crowd downstairs. Impossible i thought scanning the area.

“ It's nothing. You should see the ball room,” Emma whispered, coming closer to me.

“ Come lets introduce you to some hot guys,” she said taking my hand and making me go with her. I blushed at her words.

“ Emma!!!”

“ Believe me darling you will thank me later,” she said. I only smiled as I shook my head. I lifted my head to look at the crowd when I sensed a few pairs of eyes on me.

“ Ohh, looks like you have already made an impression,” she giggled beside me.

I looked at the crowd to look for my dad but he was nowhere to be seen. Deep down I was also looking for someone else. As I was about to divert my attention my eyes fell on the person who has been watching me since god knows how long.

He was standing a few feet away from the staircase, talking to someone. Oh gosh, I shouldn't feel this way, i reminded me as I checked him out. He looked nothing but a Royal king in his black attire which was adorned by jewelleries and badges. He looked sharp in his outfit. His burning gaze made me self conscious.

“ Hello, ladies,” a man said as he approached us.

“ Hey Parker,” Emma said.

“ Who is this gorgeous lady?” He asked as he took my hands in his before kissing the back of it. I was shocked, it happened so sudden that I didn't know what to do.

“ Mia, my friend and the daughter of Andrew More,” Emma introduced me.

“ I see,” he said with a smile on his face.

“ Would you like to join me?” He asked extending his hand.

“ I am sorry but….. my words were cut off by him.

“ It's alright, we will have plenty of chances, princess,” he said. I smiled at him, he looked friendly.

“ Sure,” I said with small smile. He walked back to a group.

“ he is good,” she said.

“ come here, let me introduce you to my friends,” Emma said taking me with her to the bar.

She introduced me to her friends melony, Kiara, and bonny. I loved them all and they were all very friendly.one thing about them all that they all have boyfriends except bonny and me. And they will also get married after the graduation ceremony. We chatted for God knows how long before he were interrupted by Justin.

“ Babe,” he said as he pulled her kna hot kiss.

“ Get a room,” bonny said as she answered at them playfully. We all laughed at her.

“ Where is max?” I asked when I didn't see him with Justin. He also doesn't know anything about the place too and since we are in the middle of the forest there is a high chance for him to get lost.

“ He…… he trailed off as he seems he was lost for words. Narrowing my eyes I looked at Emma who had a weird expression on her face as she looked at me.

“ What?” I asked when they both were silent.

“ come with me,” Emma said, urging me to follow her.

“ I am coming,” bonny said as she stood up from her stool. My heart started breathing faster when I couldn't figure out what was going on.

“ We all are,” Kiara and Melony both said in unison. Nodding my head I followed behind Emma as she took me away from the bar and towards the kitchen. We went to the hallway beside the kitchen where there was no one to be seen. As the commotion from the party died down i could hear faint sound.

My body turned cold when the sound got more clearer.

“ You are so much better than her,” I felt as if my heart stopped beating for a moment when I heard the familiar voice. I had lost the ability to move further.

“ Come with me,” Emma said as she took me towards the closed door where the sounds were coming from.

“ Sometimes we need to witness things in order to grow stronger,” bonny said as she came beside me before holding my hand tightly.

I stood there motionless as Emma walked to the door. Gingerly she turned the knob before pushing the door open. My mouth parted but no sound came out of it. I saw Max was pounding some girl on the bed. They both were so engulfed into each other that they didn't even senses our presence.

“ You j*rk,” I screamed as loudly as possible, making them both jolt up as they parted.

“ Mia,” he said but he didn't looked shocked.

“ Do*c*b*g,” Melony said.

“ How dare you?” I asked looking at him as he looked at me shamelessly.

“ Don't come at me like that,” he said as he pulled the cover on his partner and then at him. I felt disgusted with the care he was showing to her in front of me.

“ You didn't agreed to give me the things I wanted,” he said, leaning back.

“ So you decided to cheat on me?” I asked, I knew that I said I would break up with him but since we still didn't it made me more mad.

“ It's not even the first time. And beside don't teach me loyalty. I have seen how that man was kissing your hand,” he said accusing me.

“ Excuse me?”

“ at least he didn't slept with her,” Kiara said.

“ whatever we had, it ends here,” I said.

“ Now go away. I need to finishy business,” he said as he gestured us to go away with his hand.

“ Bonny no,” Emma said as she took me and bonny away from there.

“ doesn't even deserve it,” Emma said.

“ I wanted to slap him so badly,” bonny said as she looked furious.

Gideon

“ Will you go to her now?” Zeus said in my head. He has been like this since he saw our mate.

“ Will you shut it?”

He has been acting crazy like he doesn't know how dangerous it is right now.

“ Babe?” Evelyn said as her hands travelled on my chest. I stopped it before it goes anywhere i wouldn't want.

“ Stop it before you regret it,” I said with a low growl.

“ Why are you acting like this? You know I will be your mate soon,” she said as she got closer to me in attempt to hug me.

“ Evelyn!!!” I growled this time it is a clear warning. She stiffened as she bared her neck.

“ leave right now,” as the words left my mouth she scrurried out of my room.

“ Woah,” justin my beta said, entering my room as he looked back.

“ Did I missed something?” He asked.

“ why are you irritated so much?” He asked taking a seat.

“ My mate is here,” I said buttoning my shirt up. Hearing my words he immediately shot up from the couch, staring at me dumbfounded.

“ The girl who was with your mate,” I added.

“ Mia?” He asked. so that's her name.

“ Get ready for some serious s**t then,” he said with a smirk.

“ Shoot,” I said, looking at him through the mirror knowing he meant something.

He filled me with every details as we left my room. My blood boiled immediately at the male she has been with who have been treating her like s*it.

“ Keep an eye on her,” I said before he went away.

“ Also don't let him wonder near my mate,” I added through the link.

“ Gideon,” Mathew said as he came to me. He thanked me about the protection i provided him we were talking when the familiar scent of lily hit my nostrils. I looked up to the stairs to see the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life was standing at the top of the stairs.

I could see her blush from here. It is a pure torture I have been feeling right now.

I kept my eyes on her while she was talking to Parker. Jealousy got the best of me when I saw him kissing my mate’s hand. I squeezed the wine glass so hard that it broke in my hand.

“ Alpha,” Evelyn said rushing to my side but she was soon moved away when she looked up into my eyes.

When I looked back she was nowhere to be seen.

“ I will not let you heal,” Zeus said In my head like a child. Rolling my eyes at him I walked away to find her.

“ Where is she?” I asked justin through the link.

“ she caught her boyfriend cheating and went away,” justin said.

“ Where?” I asked cursing as I walked towards the stairs.

“ Upstairs,” Emma’s voice came through the link. With a smirk I went upstairs to find her.
