AFTER THE BREAK UP
"One more," I ordered, chugging down the drink in my hand. It was my seventh, yet the pain refused to numb. Her words repeated in my mind over and over again, as I found it impossible to distract myself. And every time, there was a piercing pain in my chest, as if my heart was being ripped out. I buried my head in my hands and closed my eyes. I took a deep breath, but the burning sensation in my throat remained. "Hurry up!" I yelled, slamming my hand down on the counter.
