As it turned out, Zoey was living with Queen Marie and King James in this small house. She was the one who went to the city to buy groceries and supplies while the King and Queen stayed hidden. Apparently, Zoey’s family had always known about the secret. Zoey’s grandmother had been the Queen’s Royal Guardian.
I was in shock when I came to know this information. I hadn’t known Mike and Helena were related to Zoey, even if it was distantly. Although it did make sense, they shared similar features. When Helena’s grandmother had disappeared, everyone thought she had passed away just like they believed the former Queen and King had. The only one who could withstand the Queen’s spell that changed the specie’s memories had been Zoey.
