CALLIE I felt Xander’s presence barreling in my mind a couple of hours after I had gone to bed. I had made sure to tell him I was going to go to bed so that meant something must be happening if he woke me up with a startle. “Xander? What’s wrong?” Even in my mind, I sounded sleepy. I opened my eyes slightly and tried to rub the sleep away. After a couple of seconds, I reached for the lamp on the nightstand and turned it on.
