Chapter 6 Digging Her Own Grave

"Heh, it's always the ones who look the most innocent who end up doing the most shameless things." "And what about Lance?" someone else chimed in, eager for the drama to unfold. At that moment, Lance stepped out of his car. He had already heard about Theodora from Tania and was disgusted. Lance looked at Theodora standing there—dressed simply in a shirt and trousers, a mix of innocence and coldness in her demeanor. Her delicate beauty was striking, drawing attention wherever she went. Lance hadn't canceled the engagement after Tania's return for a reason. After all, Theodora's beauty completely outshone Tania's. Snapping out of his thoughts, Lance's voice was filled with anger. "Theodora, how could you do this to me?" Theodora glanced at him indifferently, and the murmurs of sympathy for Lance started to spread around the crowd. "Lance is such a gentleman. Even though he knows Theodora is an imposter, he hasn't called off the engagement." "Yeah, and cheating on a man like this—Theodora is really heartless! She should be burned in hell!" Theodora couldn't help but laugh bitterly inside. Lance hadn't canceled the engagement right after Tania returned, but Theodora had seen Lance out with Tania on multiple occasions. Tania had even sent her messages flaunting it. Lance was just weighing his options between the two of them. And now, he was the good guy in everyone's eyes. She wasn't going to let that stand. "Tania slandered me, and now you're doing the same?" Theodora said with disdain. "Aren't you both tired of playing this pathetic game yet? I'm sick of hearing it! Do you even know what you are doing is called defamation? There's something called proof, which you don't have, but I do." Tania frowned as she looked at Theodora. What evidence could she possibly have? Lance's voice dropped, cold and sharp. "Theodora, Tania is only trying to help you. Is this really how you respond? Do you even have a conscience?" The sound of phones buzzing interrupted the tension in the air. Many students followed the school forum, and that sound meant a new post had been updated. Everyone pulled out their phones, and soon, the expressions of the crowd changed. Lance and Tania looked at each other in confusion before checking their own devices. Theodora had posted a series of photos—Lance and Tania in intimate poses, kissing, hugging. Along with some smug captions from Tania. Tania: Theodora, Lance is mine! He doesn't like you! Tania: Theodora, Lance and I are going to Noland for a week. Can't wait to be on the beach making love with the sound of the waves! You must be so jealous! And there was more. The photos and Tania's words left everyone stunned. Tania, who had always been known as the sweet, innocent girl at school, now seemed so fake and shallow. "My God, if Lance really wanted to be with Tania, he could just cancel the engagement. But if they're doing this, doesn't that make Tania a b***h?" "Tania's the one who called Theodora a b***h, and now she's kissing Theodora's man. What a hypocrite." "Ugh, I used to think Lance was a good guy. Turns out he's just another playboy." The students' disdain for both of them was palpable. Tania's hands trembled in anger. She had worked so hard to maintain her image, and now Theodora had completely destroyed it. She glared at Theodora with pure hatred. "Th-Theodora, why are you doing this to me? Those photos are fake! They're photoshopped!" Tania sputtered, trying to salvage her dignity. Thanks to Tania's quick thinking, Lance quickly came up with a story. "Right! These photos are fake!" he snapped. "Theodora, you're so vicious. You've been living in Tania's place for all these years, and now you're framing her!" Theodora sneered. "They're fake? Alright, get them authenticated. I'm happy to take whatever consequences come if they turn out to be fake." "Yeah, these photos aren't fake. They're real!" someone in the crowd called out, taking a stand. "Tania's incredible—so smooth with her lies. All that 'innocent schoolgirl' act, and she's full of filthy tricks!" Tania had always been high-profile, so it didn't surprise anyone that some students were now seizing the chance to mock her. Tania bit her lip, her fury palpable as she stared at Theodora, wishing she could tear her apart. Suddenly, a Maserati roared into the scene. The students jumped out of the way, startled. The car was speeding right through the school gates without a care in the world. The Maserati came straight at Theodora. The crowd gasped, holding their breath as it looked like she might be hit. But just before impact, the car screeched to a halt. Tania's face fell, disappointment flickering in her eyes. Why hadn't Theodora been run over? The car door opened, and out stepped a woman who radiated confidence and arrogance. She was carrying a Chanel bag, her makeup flawless. With a disdainful look, she locked eyes with Theodora, clearly irritated. She had been trying to scare Theodora, but Theodora had shown no fear whatsoever. "Who do you think you are, taking someone else's identity as the rich daughter and stealing her man? What's wrong with Tania sleeping with her own fiancé?" the woman sneered, her tone dripping with contempt. "You should remember, the one engaged to Lance is a real Belbin, not some nobody who doesn't even know where she comes from!"
