I had slept well last night and woken this morning feeling refreshed and ready for whatever the day might bring. I took a shower and changed into the clean clothes that Alpha Rivers had kindly had brought up to my room. Looking in the mirror, I saw that all my cuts and bruises had completely healed. I found Joe last night, and he had informed me that he hadn’t managed to reach my parents last night, but I would try again this morning. I would be on edge until I knew that they were OK. I headed downstairs and bumped into Joe halfway. “I was just coming to see you.” He said cheerfully “I was going to ask if you wanted to join me for breakfast?
