CHAPTER 19: With You 2

1983 Words
This morning Darren really made Mikaela shocked, just after she had changed and was about to call Aunt Salma, the man suddenly entered her room and immediately dragged Mikaela to go with him to breakfast. Mikaela had to ask the receptionist later how Darren had access to her room. Today, she must. It turned out that Darren invited her to have breakfast with the hotel owner, Matt, one of Darren's old friends who turned out to be the person who invited Darren to the Maldives, he wanted to establish cooperation with Darren. Mikaela knows because yesterday she just met with Matt, for a work meeting. Matt's appearance really deceived the eye, with his simple and geeky appearance, he could fool Mikaela. Mikaela thought yesterday Matt was one of the accomplices of the boss of the hotel owner where she was staying, apparently Mikaela was wrong, the real owner was Matt himself. And now, without even asking the receptionist, Mikaela knew the reason why Darren could freely entered her room. Mikaela sat limply in the hotel poolside restaurant. Matt came with a smile that broke. He reached out to Mikaela after shaking hands with Darren. "Did you sleep well miss?" Matt asked as if teasing Mikaela. "Very good, Mr. Matt, your hotel is great, I like the view." Mikaela said sincerely. The man in black shirt invited Darren and Mikaela to sit back, and the servants began to arrive to bring them food that had been prepared beforehand. "Thank you." Matt smiled at the servants before they left. Business chat began. And Mikaela could only listen carefully to the chat, while chewing white bread with her favorite chocolate jam. Lots of food available on the table, but Mikaela prefers bread, her habit when she was in Paris. Besides, she was not comfortable eating, occasionally she drank hot chocolate from her cup while watching Darren and Matt's conversation. They planned to establish a five-star hotel in Singapore, that was what Mikaela could understand. She was surprised how much money Matt and Darren had actually had so they wanted to make such a big project. Mikaela's father used to have a lot of money, but Mikaela never asked how much money her father had so he could make such a big company, unfortunately the company had to go bankrupt before Mikaela understood how to do business. "What do you think miss?" suddenly Matt asked her to talk. "Me?" Mikaela was a little awkward when the man suddenly asked her opinion. Darren looked at her, also waiting for Mikaela's answer. Mikaela's cellphone rang, just as she was about to answer Matt's question. On the screen, Rendy's name was clearly written. Of course Matt and Darren could read it right away because Mikaela put the cellphone on the table. Matt smiled. "You can pick it up, take it easy, this is not an official meeting." Mikaela turned to look at Darren, asking for his approval. Darren only gave the code to Mikaela to pick up Rendy's telephone, signaling that he gave Mikaela permission. The girl immediately grabbed her cellphone and inched away from Darren and Matt, approaching the pool. There were some people who were also eating breakfast by the pool. "Hello." Mikaela greeted as soon as she answered the phone. "......." "I am fine." "......." "Take it easy, I can take care of myself." "........" "I'll tell you later, I don't know when I will go home either." "........" "He said if the business was over, we could go home, he didn't tell me when." "......." "Believe me, I'll be fine. He's not angry at me anymore." "........" "Maybe the mood is good." "........." "Okay, I'll call you later, I'm meeting someone important here." "......." "Yes. Don't worry." "........" "Bye." Mikaela smiled looking at her cellphone, she felt happy that there was someone else who cared about her besides Aunt Salma. Bugh "Aagghh." Mikaela shouted, braking her body so as not to fall into the pool along with her cellphone. Someone bumped into her from behind, enough to make Mikaela fell to the pool. Luckily she was still able to maintain the balance of her body. "Sorry." Mikaela who was stunned staring at the surging pool water due to her cellphone sinking, turned her body away. It turned out that Darren crashed into him. Darren lifted his legs and shook her a little. "I slipped." he said in a relaxed tone, with a distinctive hand that he put into his pants pocket. Her cellphone fell into the water, the cellphone which he bought with her own sweat after returning Rendy's cellphone. And now Mikaela lost her cellphone and important data there. Mikaela was still speechless. She was sad and upset. She wanted to be angry but Darren accidentally hit her. Mikaela's eyes turned red and wanted to cry. Darren felt a little guilty. "Never mind, I'll replace it later, when I get to Singapore." Mikaela was forced to nod at Darren's words even though she was not sincere, because the one who accidentally hit her was her own boss. Mikaela couldn't possibly sob while she was currently the center of attention of people around her who wanted to know what was happening. "Matt's gone because he has something important. Next time don't bring a cellphone when you're with me." said Darren before leaving Mikaela. *** "You took a long time." scolded Tiwi when she saw Rendy sitting in front of her. "I have a sudden business, so I finish my business first." Tiwi snorted. "You asked me to meet, but you came late. You're annoying." "Sorry." Rendy didn't pay too much attention to Tiwi, instead he called one of the servants to come closer. "What do you want to order?" Tiwi who had been reading the food menu smiled sweetly. And that was the reason why Rendy did not really consider Tiwi's grumbling, because Tiwi was the type that easily melted only because of good food. As soon as the waiter was ready to record Tiwi's order, with one breath Tiwi mentioned several types of food that she wanted. Rendy just shook her head at Tiwi's order. "You will finish it all?" "Of course." "Well as long as you're happy." Rendy nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders. Tiwi smiled with satisfaction. "By the way, Mikaela contacted you? I couldn't contact her earlier." said Tiwi. "Is it true?" Rendy's brow furrowed. "Yes, the number is not active." Rendy immediately took out his cellphone. "I called her earlier, but she said she would call me again if her business was over. Maybe she's busy right now." said Rendy while fiddling with his cellphone, pressing Mikaela's number that he had memorized by heart. Sure enough what Tiwi said, who answered the phone was the operator who said that Mikaela's number was not active. "Since when has the number been inactive?" Tiwi seemed to remember. "I don't know either, but I contacted her three hours ago." "Hmm, maybe after I called he turned off his cellphone." Rendy looked at the watch in his hand. "Yes, or maybe the cellphone runs out of battery." said Tiwi. "What are you suddenly asking me to meet without Mikaela?" There was a pause in Rendy and Tiwi's conversation, once the waiter came to deliver their order. Rendy only answered after making sure the waiter left and there was nothing lacking in their order. "I want you to appeal Mikaela to stop working for Darren." "Hm?" "You see what that madman did to Mikaela." "I know, I'm always watching him." "We can't always keep an eye on him. You don't know how Darren hated Mikaela for a long time, I really know how vengeful he is." Rendy linked his hands together, remembering how Darren's expression had hardened when he discussed Mikaela, at first. "Then what will you do?" "Of course keep her away from Darren. That man is crazy." "Are you jealous of them alone together?" Rendy glared at Tiwi. The girl laughed stiffly. "I'm just kidding. I thought Darren was happy with his fiancée. And I don't think Darren would be that happy to Mikaela, even though, well, indeed, what I know Darren always scolded her every day when she was in the office." Tiwi said doubtfully. "Are you sure? Will someone employ the one he hates the ost in his company without any purpose?" Tiwi nodded slowly. "You're right, I'm not sure, but you're a good friend of Darren, you know how he is, so I obeyed you when you told me to watch over Mikaela. But in my opinion, Darren is the type of man who won't say anything in his heart, it could be actually he just wants to help Mikaela. " clearly Tiwi. "Yes, because you don't know him well. He can do anything for something he wants." "Really? And do you think he still wants Mikaela?" Tiwi looked carefully at Rendy's expression. A concern was clearly drawn on that face. "I don't think so, because now he already has Caroline." "Then?" "What I'm worried about is Mikaela, she still loves Darren." Tiwi sighed. She knows best how Mikaela felt. The girl still truly loved Darren from her gaze that was always fixed on Darren secretly. "Yes, that is his weakness and your weakness." Rendy paused to digest Tiwi's words. He wet his lips and sipped his ordered ice coffee. "Then what do you mean by saying that Mikaela is your prospective fiancé in front of Darren?" continued Tiwi. "I don't want Darren to hurt and embarrass Mikaela in public. You see Darren as if he wanted to strangle her because Mikaela accidentally crashed into Caroline. I feel like I want to beat Darren right then and there." Tiwi's face seemed to remember something, she hurriedly finished her drink. "I know who was teasing Mikaela that night." Rendy grinned. "I fixed it." Ckck Tiwi chuckled and laughed mockingly. "You love my friend too much, don't you?" "I just want to protect her from long ago." "Actually you are a good man, it's a shame Mikaela doesn't realize your feelings." Tiwi ended the chat by starting to eat his food. *** A really tiring day. All day Darren invited Mikaela to go around with some of his business partners, including Matt, to look at the vacant land in the Maldives, she did not know which project Darren was going to run. Mikaela didn't know because there was no further discussion. The day began to darken, Mikaela laid her body in the bed after finishing the afternoon bath, she stretched her arms as long as possible to reduce fatigue, while occasionally peering toward the door, timidly Darren suddenly came barging into his room. Maybe not for now because that man must be very tired too. Mikaela got up to close the curtains, staring at the ocean from the window, the beach which was still crowded at night. The lights glowed from all sides. Mikaela really liked that scene, if not because she was tired, she would have been able to linger at that scenery. The girl looked up when she had difficulty pulling one of the curtains. It seemed like the curtain caught something. How could a five-star hotel run out of shape? She would protest to Matt later, if she had the courage before Darren. Mikaela chuckled to herself at the thought of Darren's face. She did not want to bother, she pulled the chair in her room to see what was stuck in the high curtain. Mikaela had to stand on tiptoe to reach the curtain. But she lost her balance, the small wheeled chair shifted easily and made Mikaela shudder. She closed her eyes, prepared to fall, but a sturdy hand grabbed her waist, and twisted Mikaela's body. Bruk. The chair collapsed with a loud noise, and Mikaela's position was still hovering towards someone who was helping her. Who else could entered her room without permission except Darren. This time the man's impudence was quite useful. Mikaela looked down at Darren who looked up at her. Darren's hands were tightly wrapped around Mikaela's stomach and waist as if he were lifting her up, while Mikaela's hand reflexively held onto Darren's shoulder. "What are you doing?" Darren lowered Mikaela slowly. Mikaela still looked down embarrassed, Darren had not let his hand off Mikaela's waist. Moreover, she only wore plain white shirts with tight black short pants. She felt uncomfortable when Darren looked at her. When Mikaela's feet reached the floor, Darren looked down to keep looking at her. "You really haven't changed huh, still careless like you used to." whispered Darren pressed closer to Mikaela.
