“Zenis, I need to find out how far you are with planning the spring ball.” Brenton got down to business the moment she walked into his office.
“I… We… Everything is ready. Or it was before the queen was poisoned. We will have to re-order the food, but the rest was ordered, and I had it packed away.”
“Tell us what you planned.” Iden excitedly asked her, patting the chair next to him.
They had decided not to share their plan with Vanora and to keep it a secret from her. They wanted to surprise her.
Zenis brought them up to date on all the plans, but looked disappointed when she told them that Vanora didn’t show much interest in their plans.
“Good.” Brenton smiled and Zenis looked confused.
“This way it will be an even better surprise.” He grinned.
