Iden walked into the room and looked into the eyes of his daughter, watching her eyes light up bright blue as her spirit awakened.
“Father…” Her voice but a whisper, he rushed to her side.
“My darling daughter. I’m so sorry.” He took both her hands, leaving a kiss on each of them.
“I don’t understand.” She looked at Brenton standing by the window, looking out.
“I will give you time to talk.” Brenton excused himself, stomping out of the room.
