Morning came and we went to the office. From there I walked three blocks away to go to the gym and meet Mark.
“Hi, Mark.”
“Hi, Catherine?”
He held his fingers like a gun that pointed at me to tell me that he knew my name right.
“I think you didn’t hear your phone ringing, because Nicholas called and asked if you were already here because you weren’t answering his calls.”
“Oh!”
I scrambled through my bag and took my phone. There were five missed calls from my boss.
I immediately dialed his number. He was a bit furious when he answered my call.
“Where were you? Why aren’t you answering my calls?”
“I walked and went to Mark.”
“The chauffeur was waiting for you in the lobby. You were not supposed to walk.”
“Oh sorry, I didn’t know.”
