Returning Home

     I climbed out of bed before Zach woke up. I threw my robe on, then stepped outside and smoked a cigarette. It was a dreary morning, and looked like we had rain moving in, but that didn't make the view of the ocean any less beautiful.     As soon as I finished smoking, I made my way to kitchen and cooked a nice breakfast. By the time I was done cooking, I made french toast, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and fried potatoes. After I made us both a plate, and two cups of coffee, I carried them to the bedroom. I didn't have a carrying tray, so I used a baking pan instead.     When I reached the bed, I pulled the blanket back from my side of the bed, then set the food down. I reached over to Zach, and softly caressed his cheek. His lips curved up into a smile, before his eyelids flutte
