The next day we all went to Savannah's Cafe for breakfast. When I told Skylar what we were doing, she insisted on joining us. It was definitely an interesting breakfast, to say the least.
Skylar was her usual peppy self, attracting a lot of attention to our group. Once other customers realized who we were, it was too late to skedaddle out of there. Within fifteen minutes, the news of my return to my hometown spread like a wildfire.
I almost couldn't believe how fast old friends from school, and random people from our town started flocking to the cafe. I tried to take it as a compliment, but after awhile it got to be too much. Plus, most of these old friends were more like acquaintances that never wanted anything to do with me before.
