BAM! I jolted awake and looked around my dark and empty bedroom. I feel for Ace to wake him but his side of the bed was empty and still made. Baffled, I grab my robe from the hook and throw it on before walking down the hallway where the intruder was. The sound of things moving made my body rise in fear. The whole house was dark. I wasn't close to any streetlamps or the moon, so no light was visible to allow me to see. I lean against the wall on my right and slowly move down it. As the sounds get closer, I sprawl my hand out and filling for the switch. When I do, I switch it and close my eyes as the light shines everywhere. "Argh. Turn it off." Someone grumbles.
