Kendra POV When the receptionist said the room we booked was their sought-after room, I had hoped there would be at least a couch. There wasn’t. Aside from the bed, the bedside table, a small vanity table, and the dining table for two, there was nothing else inside the room. I thought the bathtub was not big enough for Evan to fit in. I had not seen the balcony or what else the inn offered. When I was about to open the door to see what was outside, Evan growled. “What did I do this time? I just want some fresh air.” I placed both hands on my hips in annoyance. Evan was so hard to please. “Stay inside. You don’t know who could be out there.” Evan stood a foot away from me and peeped outside the window. “Woods bordering the east side.” “And?” I rolled my eyes and went to sit on the bed.
