(Vaughn) I left Kieran's office with my hands still shaking. Not from fear. From rage. He'd threatened me. Actually threatened me. Told me he'd bury me if I kept digging. Who the hell did he think he was? I walked back to the ER, trying to calm down. My shift wasn't over for another four hours, and I couldn't afford to lose focus. Not with the medical board hearing coming up. But I couldn't stop thinking about Kieran's face. The way he'd grabbed me. The way he'd said he'd make sure I regretted it. He was dangerous. More dangerous than I'd realized. But I wasn't backing down. If anything, his threats just proved I was onto something. He was hiding something about his father's death. Something big. And I was going to find out what. I checked my phone. No messages from Mark yet. But
