(Sloane) The next morning I was in my office reviewing patient charts when there was a knock on my door. "Come in." The door opened and Mom walked in. "Mom?" I stood up, surprised. "What are you doing here?" She smiled and came over to hug me. "Your father and I just got back from our trip last night. I wanted to check on you but I knew you'd be at work." I hugged her back. It felt good to see her. Really good. I hadn't realized how much I needed this until she was here. "How was the cruise?" "Amazing. The Mediterranean is beautiful this time of year.
