(Vaughn) I woke up in my hotel room in the late afternoon. Night shift. Again. I sat up and looked around. The room was a mess. Empty takeout containers on the desk. Clothes scattered everywhere. I'd been living like this for days now. But at least I could still afford it. Barely. My savings were running low. The hotel wasn't cheap, and with the lawyer fees piling up, I was burning through money fast. But I was still working. Still getting paid. I could survive. For now. I got up and got ready. Shower. Shave. Put on my scrubs. Another night shift. The third one this week. All because Kieran kept scheduling me for the worst times. The worst cases. He was doing this on purpose. Trying to break me. Well, it wasn't going to work. I grabbed my phone. Two missed calls from my lawyer.
