Chapter 20: Pay the price
(Alex's POV)
My fists clenched so tight my knuckles turned white. The urgent news about James's betrayal pounded in my head like a hammer.
Thomas hadn't looked up from his phone for the past twenty minutes. His fingers flew across the screen, desperately trying to reach Daniel Pierce's Beta.
Each unanswered call made his frown deepen.
"Damn it!" Thomas cursed, something I'd rarely heard from him. "Still no response from the Crimson Moon Pack."
William shifted restlessly in his seat. "How dare he?" he muttered for the tenth time. "How dare James do this to our pack?"
The mention of James made my blood boil. That worthless wolf only got his position because of his sister Isabel's influence over me. And now...
