I sat on the bed and stared at my mom. Her used to be beautiful face is now covered in scars and slightly disfigured. My disgusting father beat her up pretty badly. Maria is sitting on the corner, waiting for my mother's command.
" Maria, come here, dear. I want to introduce you to my daughter." My mom called Maria. She stood up and came over to stand beside my mom.
" Amelia, this is Maria. I met her at my savior's house eight years ago. She was still a teenager then. She helped take care of me and kept me company if my savior is out of the country. Maria, this is my Amelia." She introduces us, and I smiled at Maria. She also gave me a small smile.
