She felt the whoosh of air coming up from beneath her as she watched Oakley and Barb leaning over the platform incredulously at her, terror coating their faces. Yet as she fell, not a sound left her body. Oddly, she knew she should be screaming as she fell but peace rested in her heart as she drew closer and closer to the ground. Then she felt the air move under her and she was pushed upwards, and she gave a giggle as a wing slipped under her body, cupping her, and stopping the fall. She rolled sideways along the thick sinewy flap and then lay on her belly as the wing lifted trying to edge her to the middle.
