The Old Tribal Women

Carlos knew their language very well because he used to spend a lot of time with them, so he could translate their language.

"Yes sir", Carlos spoke to the women in her language.

"Tell me Carlos , what did this old lady just say?", I asked him.

"She said that she knows your wife, and she wants you to follow her, because she wants to show you something very important", he replied.

"Tell him that I will follow her", I told Carlos.

Carlos did as I told him to do, I followed the old woman, she headed towards a hut, and she opened the door.

When I entered inside I saw cute children surrounding something. They were girls ,their heads were decorated with flowers, their hairstyle was a bun and they all looked cute.

"Why did she get me here, she wants to show me these kids?", I wanted to meet Addisom, I was losing my patience.

"I don't know sir what is she trying to do, and what she is trying to show you", he replied.

The old women told the kids something and they moved away from the thing that they were surrounded by.

When I took a close look I saw that it was a cradle and in that cradle was a cute baby.

The old woman Carried the baby in her arms and she headed towards me, she placed the baby in my arms, and she said something while handing the baby to me, I didn't know what she was saying.

"Carlos, what did she say?", I asked him without removing my gaze from the infant.

Carlos was not responding to anything, he was just staring at me with tears in his eyes.

"What happened Carlos, tell me Carlos what happened?Why are you crying?, I asked him.

After a few seconds Carlos finally replied.

"Sir the old woman said that this is your baby", he replied.

"Are you serious Carlos, is she lying, if this is my baby, where is my wife, where is Addison, ask them Carlos, ask them about Addison", I told him.

"Sir the old lady said,'' Your wife...your wife, I am so sorry sir. I cannot tell you this, I would not like you to get hurt. '',tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Tell me Carlos, I want to know where Addison is?, What did the old lady say about her, please tell me Carlos", I said with tears in my eyes.

My hands was shivering, I had so many thoughts racing in my mind.

"Please tell me Carlos", I replied.

"They said that after giving birth to your baby, your wife never woke up, she is alive but she is unconscious, she has not opened her eyes, they said that they are afraid that she will never be able to wake up again", he said with tears in his eyes.

"I am so sorry sir".

"Why are you sorry Carlos nothing has happened to her, I will make her alright, I will take care of her, nothing has happened to Addison, tell them to take me to her",

Carlos told the women to take me to my wife and she agreed.

I told Carlos to hold the baby, and take care of the baby because I was not in a state to care for that little one.

I followed the old lady, she entered another tent, and when I entered there I saw my Addison, I saw my Addison lying on the bed unconscious, her hair was decorated with flowers and she looked beautiful, but she was unconscious, I headed towards her.

"Addison darling your Christof is here, I am here to take you along with me, darling everything's gonna be okay, please wake up darling please wake up, I am so sorry, I am the one to be blamed, you are in this state just because of me, I am so sorry Addison, please forgive me darling, please forgive me" I told her.

She was lying unconscious there, she couldn't hear me and her body was not responding.

"Carlos look at her, she is unconscious, she is not responding to me Carlos, please tell her to wake up Carlos, please tell her to wake up, Carlos I finally found her but she is not in the state to hug me", I spoke to him with tears rolling down my cheeks, without removing my eyes from my darling.

Carlos didn't respond to me, he just kept silent, he had tears in his eyes.

"Please gather yourself sir, I know you are having a tough time here, but you now have a baby to take care of", he said to me.

"How can I gather myself Carlos, can't you see, my Addison is unconscious here, she is not responding to me, look at the wound on her head, it's still not healed Carlos, you Know what Carlos I am taking her to the hospital now, I cannot let her stay here even for a single second, I will take care of her, I will cure her, now as I have found her, I am not going to let her leave me again", I replied.

I carried Addison in my arms and I headed towards the street.

"Carlos go and find a taxi, and I need to take care of Addison, please take care of my baby till then", I told him.

"Yes sir. Don't worry I will take care of your baby", he replied.

He headed towards the road to search for a cab.

I waited behind carrying Addison In my arms, I didn't go along with him, because the cab driver would not agree to help us out, so Carlos went to get a cab.

After a few minutes Carlos headed towards me.

"Sir one cab driver agreed to help us, please follow me sir", he replied.

I followed him and I got in the cab, I placed Addison's head on my lap, Carlos sat near the driver in the front seat.

"Carlos told him to drive fast, we need to reach the hospital soon", I told him.

"Yes sir", he replied.

"Please drive a bit fast, we need to reach the hospital as soon as possible", I told the cab driver.

"Yes sir", he replied.

"Who is she sir, why is she unconscious?, What happened to the young lady?", He asked Carlos

"She is not well that is why we don't to rush hervto the hospital, this is a remote area , and there is not network here that is why we couldn't call an ambulance, Luckily you were here, so that is why I asked your help", he replied to the man.

"I will try my best to drive fast sir", he replied.

"Yes please", Carlos replied back.

Addison had to spend 10 months in that tribal village, and this was all because of me, because of my enmity Addison had to suffer, I am the main cause, she didn't have a normal delivery, I wasn't along with her during her pregnancy.

I creased her hair while she laid unconscious in my arms.

I couldn't see my baby girl in this state, she looked weak but she didn't lose her spark, she looked so beautiful, I couldn't stop staring at her.

"How much more time?", ``When are we going to reach the hospital?", I asked the taxi driver.

"Don't worry sir, we will be reaching the Hospital soon", he replied.

"Please hurry, my wife needs immediate treatment", I said to the taxi driver.

"Yes sir, I am trying my best to drive as fast as I can, I can understand your pain", he replied.

"How can you understand my pain?, Did you ever been in this situation?", I asked him.

"Yes sir I have once been in the exact same place, my wife has a labour pain during midnight, no one was helping me to take her to the hospital, it was raining heavily, I tried asking people for help but no one helped me, then one man agreed to give me a lift in his car, I was helpless just like you sir, because of that man I could save my wife, at that time I used to not drive a taxi, I used to work in a shop, when this gentleman told me everything, that your wife needed immediate treatment I agreed on the spot to help you out, because I know this pain sir, which you are going through", he replied while driving and while looking at the rear view mirror.

"Thank you so much for helping me,this means a lot to me", I replied to him with a smile.

"There is no need to thank me sir, it's my duty to help you out, I am a taxi driver, so this is my job", he replied.

"Okay, please try to drive fast", I replied.

"Yes sir", he replied back.

"Do you both want some water to drink, you two look exhausted", he replied.

"No thank you so much but I am fine", I replied.

"If Carlos wants you can give him some water", I replied.

"No sir I am fine", he replied to me by looking behind.

"Thank you so much but I don't feel like drinking anything now", he replied to the taxi driver.

"Sir your daughter is sleeping peacefully in my arms", he said while looking behind.

"How do you know she is a girl?", I asked him.

"The old woman told me, that you got a baby girl, she also told me that Addison told her to take care of her baby, she told her that you will come to take the baby soon, and to wait for you, so when the old lady saw you she got to know that it was you", Carlos said to me while turning towards me.

"But how did she know what Addison told her?", I asked him.

"I asked her the exact same question, she told me that she got to know through her emotions, the old tribal women are very wise and she gets to know what a person is telling her through their behaviour and emotions", he told me.

"When did you talk to the old women?", I asked him.

"When you were near your wife, the old woman told me everything, she told me that she took care of your wife,but she couldn't wake her", he replied.

"They are no professional doctors after all Carlos, so it's obvious they would not be able to give her that treatment, Addison needs treatment from professional doctors, not from tribal villagers Carlos", I told him.

"Yes you are right sir, your wife needs a professional doctor not tribal villagers to treat her, but don't you think sir, it's a miracle that they saved your baby, they are not professional doctors, your baby is healthy and fit and fine and she doesn't look sick", he replied.

"Carlos, let's not talk about the baby for now, because I am worried about Addison more than the baby, I want my wife to be okay, I want her to gain consciousness, I cannot see her like this unconscious", I replied to him.

"I know sir you are worried more about your wife than your baby, you had already told me that your wife is more important than your baby", he replied.

"How can I forget that", he said with a low voice.

"Please be silent Carlos," I said to him.
