I sigh as I look around the health care unit and nod my head slowly. It’s going to be a long night… As soon as we got into work, the officers called a man down code and brought one of our inmates in unresponsive. Well, they said he was unresponsive and that he was last awake and walking around right before they shut the camp down for count. When we got the man on the stretcher to start chest compressions, I soon realized that rigormortis had started to set in because my chest compressions were ineffective due to not being able to compress his chest. I sigh as I look around and we finally get emergency medical services on scene for us to let them have the chance to take over. Instead of taking over, they pronounced him dead on scene and quickly left. Those stupid bastards.
