It took us two hours to figure out everything in detail for this plan, but once we had gotten it figured out, we were all swamped. The police chief released everyone to go get some rest before we had to be back here in the morning no later than four o’clock to be prepared to roll out no later than five-fifty-five. I had to say, even though it was only nine o’clock at night, it felt like it was already midnight. I sighed as I walked towards the doors of the station with Nick right behind me when the police chief stopped us. “Miss Parks.”
I turn around and look up into his eyes. “Yes, sir?”
He sighs as he steps closer. “Miss Parks, we can’t let you go home tonight.”
