I arrived home and met my mother in the living room. She donned a brown dress and black sandals, seated on the couch.
"Good evening, Mom," I greeted her as I made my way towards the stairs to return to my room.
"Welcome, Ace. Dinner is almost ready. Aren't you going to eat?" Mom asked, but I stopped and replied, "No. Not now. I had a hectic day, and I need to unwind and have my bath first."
"Alright. I'll be expecting you," Mom replied, and I looked away from her and went back to my room. As I got in, I shut the door and went to my bed drawer to take an image of Mallory that I had taken secretly.
