The smell of burnt smoke still lingered in the air. The walls were blackened, the mattress half charred. Emma had barely caught her breath from putting out the fire when the sound of boots stomped outside the corridor. “What’s that smell?” a deep, rough voice thundered. Emma froze. Diva turned, confused. Then came the beams ... flashlights, slicing through the cracks of the half-broken door.
